The final month of 2023 marks the start of Google’s removal of inactive personal accounts. Dormant accounts and their content on Gmail, Drive, YouTube, and Photos will be deleted if they have not been used in the past two years. However, exceptions apply to accounts with ongoing subscriptions, purchased digital items, or associated gift card balances. The first to be deleted are those that were created and never used again. To avoid deletion, users can simply log into their accounts or use a service. Google is purging these accounts for security reasons, as many of them are not properly protected. If an account is truly no longer needed, it can be safely allowed to be deleted, as the account names will not be reused.
