I adore desks that double as computers, letting you see the inner workings beneath the glass. Lian Li, a PC case company, revealed a new prototype for a combination standing desk-PC case design in its Digital Expo. This desk features a 30-inch transparent OLED screen supplied by LG, integrating it into the PC and essentially functioning as an additional monitor. The desk also includes an aluminum surface with extra features like a wireless charger, USB ports, and an integrated coaster. The case supports a large number of fans and/or radiators, accommodating the largest consumer components and a 340mm graphics card.
The aesthetic of the DK-07 prototype is a bit rough compared to Lian Li’s earlier desks, with the glass top now divided into four sections and elements of the component area and frame fully exposed. Despite this, the integrated monitor mount is a positive addition. While this design may not be practical, it is visually stunning, and Lian Li’s over-the-top approach is the entire point. The company’s decision to market this desk would be intriguing, especially to see the creative setups that enthusiasts could create.
