Microsoft is set to release the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 soon, with a new OLED screen being a key upgrade to the Surface Pro tablet, as per a report.
According to Windows Central, a reliable source for Surface leaks, the two devices will launch on March 21. They will feature new Core Ultra processors and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite option, which will also be available for the Surface Laptop 6. The Surface Laptop 6 will reportedly have Thunderbolt ports and a USB-A port, while the Surface Pro 10 will include the new OLED screen, an NFC reader, and an improved webcam.
The Surface lineup has not typically seen many hardware changes over the years, with most generations being quite similar. The last Surface Laptop, the Surface Laptop 5, was released in 2022 along with the Surface Pro 9. The Surface Pro X was a significant departure with an Arm chip, which some reviewers found to be slow with executing X86 apps.
Microsoft may soon offer Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chips in the new Surface devices, possibly in the summer. This development is exciting, especially considering the potential performance comparison with Intel’s 14th-gen Meteor Lake hardware.
Windows Central’s report also mentions AI enhancements, with an improved version of Windows Copilot that incorporates Timeline features. This enhanced Copilot may offer smarter functionality and quicker access to previous work. The implementation of these features on the Surface hardware remains to be seen.
Overall, it seems like there are some interesting updates coming to the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, and users can look forward to experiencing these changes firsthand soon.
