Concerning the gameplay, FIFA 22 will introduce a new system called Hypermotion that will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia versions of the game. The development team will use a new motion capture technology that will allow them to reproduce the intensity of a real football games with data from 22 players in 11V11 matches. Thanks to the new machine learning algorithm used for the game, called ML – Flow, the players’ animations will reach a new level of realism.

The new Xsens suits used for capturing the players will record every aspects of the game and will allow the developers to add over 4000 new animations to the game, taking elements like responsiveness and physicality into account. Next gen consoles will also benefit from a new Tactical AI both in terms of attack and defense. During offensive actions your players will be more reactive, able to react more quickly when they lose the ball and adapting to most situations. When it comes to defense, your players will now act as a block and cover the field in a more effective way.

FIFA 22 will also introduce Kinetic Air Battles that will give a new meaning to air duels in the game. The contacts between players will be more realist, leading to better and more realistic outcomes. Ball control animations will also improve and gain new levels of fluidity. Individually, players will gain new moves outside game phases, making them more human.
